Andrea, CEO & Utility Footwear Designer
Born into a family of master shoemakers, I grew up among sketches,wooden maquettes and hand stitching, renderings of soles and meetings with customers.
I have been in the profession for a long time, more than 25 years during, which I have built experience, thanks also to my studies in architecture in Venice and to my specialization as a technical designer and pattern maker at the Politecnico Calzaturiero di Strà (VE), in the heart of the Italian district of luxury footwear.
Resourcefulness led me to create AND Studio, to offer companies in the Outdoor and Utility sector innovative solutions, a creative idea beyond the formulas already seen, excellence in technical design and the unmistakable Italian aesthetic taste.
I draw everything mostly by hand, I like to create while listening to music and always find new details, but consistent with the "DNA" of the brand I am working on.
My team and I, we have developed the AND METHOD, our working method based on constant comparison with the customer and the network.
Our formula gives priority to the long-term profitability of each model designed, which is why our motto is We Design Best Selling Outility Shoes.
Marianna, Utility Footwear Designer
I have been working in the world of footwear since 2001.
I had to start from scratch as my studies were in commercial services which differed completely to this sector but step by step I began to build up experience.
From the beginning I was lucky to gain experience in getting to know all about materials and soles, freehand drawing and using graphics programs, trend research and creation of mood boards.
In 2007 my love of drawing led me to jewellery and aside from my own job I have had some very nice experiences in the jewellery industry. I attended courses at the private school Istituti Vicenza until I had a good grasp of the subject and I was able to create 3D printed handmade jewellery in silver or plastic material. I have also given advice and designed jewellery lines for other people.
I am an eclectic person, my interests range from watercolour painting to amateur astronomy to reading books on psychology.
Alessia, Utility Footwear Designer
I was born in 1990 under the sign of Aquarius. I grew up
on the outskirts of Padua, in Saccisica in the middle of the countryside, far away from the busy town. I have always been creative, thinking outside the box, so I attended the school of art and then the Italian School of Design (SID). I became part of its staff as soon as I finished my study.
I prefer working on a project from the beginning to the end, not just focusing on a part of it. When working I always wear just one headphone, listening to books, conference and podcast, so that I am also able to listen to what is going on around me.
Two parallel worlds? Perhaps.
My interest have nothing to do with the world of design. I tend to zone out completely and this allows me to separate the two things and draw inspiration from both.
My field of work permits me to have new stimuli, something I always need.
My main strength is my excellent memory.
